3 things that made me think.
1. A while ago I read a post on Facebook on the topic what makes you a man.
2. I recently celebrated my 30 something birthday.
3. On my way home I heard Lily Allen sing "Hard Out Here" on the car radio.
The post I read on Facebook was a well meaning list of positive behavior attributes that a man should strive to achieve instead of traditional macho ideals. Well meaning yes, but to list how you should behave to be a man strikes me as deeply offensive no matter how positive the attributes. The whole question is wrong, ask how to be a good person in stead. To be a man all you need is a few Y chromosomes (or a good surgeon) and being born with them is really not a very impressive feat.
Just thinking out loud.
